Kisatchie National Forest, West of hwy 49, north of Fort Polk. North west of Alexandria.

I have explored a few good trails. There isnt anything to hard. I still want to find a good route from 363 (lower left on map) to the Lotus camp (item 13 on map) the triple numbered white trails are pretty much fire roads, the black roads amongst the white roads on the map tend to hold more of a challenge. There is also a below ground natural gas pipe line that wanders through the Forest that has some nice spots to crawl along.

some pics from today..

the last 2 pics are alot steeper then they appear.

There is plenty of nice camping spots, some nice spots at some creeks for swimming. All and all a good weekend trip if anyone is interested.

Where is the pics of the 4runner flexing, looks like a fun day out in the woods.
I have been trying to go explore out there just haven't found the time. To bad most of those roads close for hunting season. Make sure you get a permit if you end up on the Red Dirt area.

Those links dont work. If anyone is interested, let me know I would have no problem setting up a group run. I dont know about the "Red dirt" area or about closed roads during hunting season. When I get a chance I'll go to the ranger station and ask.

I am not sure what part of Kisatchie you were in but in the above link go to the hunting section, then under Red Dirt WMP is a PDF file with some rules and a area map. Just FYI
I think a group ride would be fun.

I have done some more recon.... Sadly there is little to no worthy trails other then the underground gas line. The above pics show the hardest part of the gas line. while out I ran up the hardest hill in 37 seconds in 1st gear stock low (2.28) low gear.

The 57 second time just previous....

There is no real challenge for a built rig, but there is still some fun to be had for a group and a nice weekend. A real nice camping spot near a good swimming hole.

In case anyone was wondering, the area we were was East of 117, mostly North of 118

If anyone is interested we can set something up for a weekend.

Looks like a nice bit of wheeling to settle the urge that I don't have time to feed at this time.
